Message from the President
With a New Year approaching us shortly, the
challenges that we are facing as firearms owners will again be a hot
topic. We will need to present a united front and provide support
and funding to address these items as they appear.
Our
organization is like many others that are suffering from the
economy. Our membership is not growing and participation in many
disciplines is declining as equipment, ammo and gasoline prices
rise. I would like to ask that you as a member try to involve a new
person to become a member, if not of our organization then of your
local area club. The need to keep our numbers growing is very
important to our sport
If you have not brought a junior with
you to a dinner, outdoor sports event or outdoor show within the
past year I ask that you make a great effort to do so to introduce
Youth to outdoor and shooting sports. If you are waiting for them to
become old enough, then it is too late! They will be playing ball,
watching TV or playing video games and be too busy to try it, now or
later. They don’t have to shoot now to introduce them to our sport,
they learn about cars and driving by just going along for the
ride!!!!
If you know a former junior shooter
invite them to a match and offer to pay their entry or ammo fees,
Many of them are paying for college, homes, families, etc and just
don’t have to cash to go. It’s a cheap investment in our future,
they are the leaders of tomorrow
I hope to guide our organization into a
fun and prosperous year. We should be looking to hold a fund raising
event to support our junior programs, so if you have any ideas or
resources? Please let us know. If you have time and wish to help out
with juniors, please let us know!
